Srinagar

The 12 bore licensed rifle, which was snatched from a security guard of Jammu and Kashmir Bank Pinjoora in south Kashmir’s Shopian district, has been recovered by Shopian police.

The police spokesman said that today at 3 pm some miscreants had snatched a 12 bore gun from a private guard from JK Bank Branch Pinjura Shopian.

“Upon receiving information Police Shopian swung into action and started a meticulous investigation. On the basis of accurate human and technical inputs the boys were identified,” a police spokesman said.

However, the police decided to adopt a humane approach as the boys involved were found to be only misguided youngsters from the village. So their parents and senior citizens of the area were contacted and the search for boys was carried out, the spokesman said.

“The said gun was recovered and boys were let off after proper counseling,” Police said.
