SRINAGAR: A spokesman of the Jammu and Kashmir police said they have arrested a militant associate in Budgam.
Acting on specific information, a special joint checkpoint was established by the police and 43Bn CRPF at Harren Saibug area of Budgam, the spokesman said. During checking, it added, the officers apprehended a militant associate identified as Fayaz Ahmed Bhat son of Mohammad Amin Bhat resident of Hakarmula Budgam linked with proscribed outfit LeT.
Preliminary investigation revealed that Bhat was providing shelter, logistics and other material support including transportation of arms and ammunition to the militants in various areas of Budgam. Besides, it said he has been in touch with various commanders through various social media platforms. Police said they registered a case (FIR No 152/2021) under relevant sections of law in Police Station Budgam and investigation into the matter has been initiated.
