SRINAGAR: To curb illegal mining and unauthorised transportation of minerals, Pulwama Police on Wednesday seized seven tractors carrying illegal material without valid documents in Arabal Hawal and Mirgund Rahmoo areas of the district.
According to police, two separate cases have been registered at Police Station Rajpora under relevant provisions of law, including Section 303(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Section 3 of the Prevention of Public Property Damage (PPD) Act. Both cases pertain to the seizure of vehicles involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals.
Authorities said investigations into both cases have been launched to identify the individuals involved in the unlawful activity.
Pulwama Police reiterated its commitment to act firmly against illegal mining and urged the public to report such activities to the nearest police station for prompt and lawful action. (KNT)
