Police Seize Charas, Capsules in Separate Raids in North Kashmir

   

SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Police arrested two drug peddlers and recovered contraband substances from their possession.

A police spokesperson in a statement said, “A police party from Police Post Warpora, apprehended one individual during a naka checking at Main Chowk Warpora. The person has been identified as Irfan Ahmad, son of Ghulam Hassan Malik, resident of Bilal Abad, Warpora Sopore. During the search, 160 capsules of SpasmoProxyvon Plus were recovered from his possession. A case under FIR No. 51/2025 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Sopore, and investigation has been initiated.”

“In a separate development related to FIR No. 44/2025 under the NDPS Act, registered at Police Station Sopore, the name of another accused surfaced during the investigation. Accordingly, a team from Police Post Fruit Mandi, led by In-Charge PP Fruit Mandi, obtained a search warrant from the competent court and searched the residence of the accused, Firdous Ahmad Dar, son of Mohammad Sultan Dar, resident of Reban. During the search, 374 grams of a Charas-like substance were recovered from the house. The accused has been arrested, and further investigation is underway,” police said.
