SRINAGAR: Police in Budgam have attached immovable property worth Rs 3.5 crore belonging to a known drug peddler in Nadigam village of Soibugh, Tehsil Narbal.
The confiscated assets include a four-storey shopping complex with around 40 shops in Nadigam and six kanals of land in Chek Wazir Panoo. The properties are registered under Ghulam Ahmad Dar, also known as Gulsaka, son of Ghulam Mohammad Dar, a resident of Nadigam.
This action was taken under Section 68-F of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act in connection with FIR No. 198/2019, registered under Sections 8/21 of the NDPS Act at Police Station Budgam. The case relates to the seizure of a commercial quantity of contraband substances, including Codeine Phosphate and poppy straw, from Dar’s possession.
Police have reiterated their commitment to dismantling the drug trade by identifying and confiscating properties acquired through illegal means under the provisions of the NDPS Act.
Authorities have urged the public to support efforts against drug trafficking by providing any relevant information to the police.
