Police on Tuesday claimed to have seized a huge cache of ammunition during searches in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.

The spokesman in a statement said that on Monday Pulwama Police launched searches in village Dangerpora Arihal and during searches a huge quantity of explosive materials was recovered from the house of Bilal Ahmad Ganai, including a detonating material, connecting wires, electric chargers, batteries, mobile phones and remote control activating devices and some of the seized items were marked with symbols of Pakistan.

Separately searches were also carried at village Naina Batapora and during searches, a Chinese pistol, 7 live rounds 9 mm, 01 magazines and 01 7.62 mm round was recovered from the possession of Sabzar Ahmad Mir resident of Khellan.

Subsequently, cases were registered in both the seizures and the accused persons were taken in custody for further investigation.
