Police Seize Psychotropic Substances in Sopore, File NDPS Case

   

SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir police in North Kashmir’s Sopore on Monday arrested two individuals during a routine naka checking and recovered psychotropic substances from their possession.

“The arrests were made at Ahad Baba Crossing, Noorbagh, under the jurisdiction of Police Post Fruit Mandi, Police Station Sopore. The arrested persons have been identified as Wajahat Hassan Khan, son of Ghulam Hassan Khan, resident of Mumkakh Batpora Sopore, and Syed Irfan Hussain, son of Mohammad Syed Shah, resident of Duroo Sopore,” a police spokesperson said in a statement.

Police said that during their personal search, 173 capsules of Spasmo Proxyvon Plus, a psychotropic substance, were recovered.

“An FIR No. 136/2025 under relevant sections of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Sopore. Investigation is ongoing to trace the source of the contraband and identify others involved in the network,” police said.

Sopore Police reiterated its zero-tolerance policy towards narcotics and illegal drug trafficking and urged citizens to report any suspicious activity.
