Police Seize Seven Vehicles for Illegal Mineral Extraction in Central Kashmir

   

SRINAGAR: Police in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district, in coordination with the Department of Geology and Mining, on Tuesday seized seven vehicles engaged in the unlawful extraction and transportation of minerals.

According to officials, three tractors and four tippers, loaded with minor minerals extracted from Nallah Sindh, were intercepted within the jurisdictions of Police Stations Ganderbal, Lar and Kheerbawani. The seized vehicles have been identified by their registration numbers: JK16B/5052, CH No. T0535608590K, JK16/2055, JK01M/7269, JK03A/6184, JK01P/1891 and JK04A/9869.

Police said the action reflects their continued efforts to curb illegal mining and protect natural resources in the district. Authorities have urged residents to report such activities, assuring them that information shared will be kept confidential.

Officials further stated that strict legal measures will be taken against those found violating mining laws.
