SRINAGAR: Police in central kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Sunday issued a public advisory urging residents, tourists and visitors to stay away from the banks of River Sindh following a rise in water level and strong currents in the river.
Police warned that bathing, swimming or taking selfies near vulnerable spots along the river could prove dangerous and may lead to accidents due to the fast-flowing waters.
The advisory particularly urged youngsters to avoid venturing close to the river banks, while parents were asked to keep a close watch on children and discourage them from approaching the river.
Officials appealed to the public to cooperate with the administration and strictly follow safety guidelines in order to prevent any untoward incidents and safeguard lives.
