Police did not allow MLA Langate Er Rasheed to visit Pir Panchal region Monday, AIP spokesman said in a statement.

“Not entertaining third consecutive order of state High Court, asking police to allow Er. Rasheed’s free movement in Jammu province, police yet again today stopped MLA Langate Er. Rasheed from visiting Pir Panchal region,” spokesman said.

He further added that “as scheduled Er. Rasheed today left for three day visit to Rajouri, Ponch, Surankote and Mandhar  but was intercepted by a heavy contingent of Jammu police at Pir Ki Gali.”

The police according to spokesman had laid barriers and barricades and didn’t allow Er. Rashed to travel ahead. He was forced to travel back towards Shopian.

Reacting sharply to highhandedness of police, spokesman said that Er. Rasheed is being stopped only for speaking truth and his firm political stand.

“Disrespecting court orders itself proves that police is afraid of none, as it seems to have been taken over by RSS and other radical elements. The right wing forces have hijacked the state administration and in fulfilling the designs of Sang Parivar the police administration seems to have lost conscience and morality.”

“It is obvious that police is working like OGW’s of Sang Parivar and the state has been rendered to a lawless place, where rights of people and their civil liberties do hardly matter”. Spokesman said and added that even local print and electronic media has also been asked not to expose the police and bureaucratic terrorism in Jammu province but reiterated that party will continue to fight for the rights of people and against state terrorism.
