A cop injured in a militant attack on a Police post at Wadwan area of Central Kashmir’s Budgam has succumbed to his injuries at hospital, official sources said.
A policeman was injured critically after militants on Friday afternoon attacked a police post guarding minority community at Wadwan area of central Kashmir’s Budgam district.
The slain policeman was identified as Shamim Ahmad (belt no. 834) a resident of Yaripora village of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district.
Official sources said that a Shamim Ahmad had sustained bullet wounds in the incident and was shifted to nearby hospital where he succumbed.
Soon after the attack government forces launched a hunt to nab the attackers.
