A policeman was critically injured after shot at by unknown gunmen at Kaw Mohalla area of Downtown in Srinagar district on Wednesday late evening.
Reports said that unknown gunmen fired upon the Policeman identified as Mohammad Iliyas in Kaw Mohalla area of Downtown Srinagar, leaving him critically wounded.
An official said that he was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment with multiple bullet wounds and his condition is stated to be critical.
Soon after the incident, a joint team of forces launched a cordon-and-search operation in the area to nab the assailants.
