Unidentified gunmen shot a policeman while on duty in South Kashmir’s district Pulwama.
Sources told Kashmir Life that Sanjay Sharma, a resident of Poonch was on duty on the Pulwama Tahab road when some unidentified gunmen shot him.
The injured policeman was rushed to district hospital Pulwama where the doctors declared him brought dead.
Police spokesperson later clarified that Sanjay died as a result of accidental fire from his service weapon
“At about 1645 hours this afternoon, a Police Head constable Sanjay Sharma no 114/PL got injured because of accidental fire from his service weapon. He was taken to district hospital Pulwama in critical condition but he could not survive,” the spokesman said.
