Asserting that no leader in Jammu and Kashmir is currently under arrest, the MHA said that 223 people are under detention. The response came from G Kishan Reddy, the Junior Home Minister.
There are many categories of lies. Lies, white lies, Data, Judicial lies(spoken on oath), Parliamentary lies: This government excels in all. https://t.co/Ur8wTpcRkN

“As on September 11, 223 persons are under detention,” the reply read. “No person is under house arrest in the UT of Jammu and Kashmir.”
Our vice chairman @gani_vakil is under house arrest;not allowed to participate in his son’s engagement ceremony & denied permission to participate in his son’s marriage ceremony, slated to take place a few days from now. Yet as per today’s parliament answer he is a free man.

The claim was sharply reacted to by the Kashmir political class. Some termed it blatant lie and some clear falsehood. While most of the NC is out of detention, PDP is saying that they are not being permitted to move out of their homes. In fact, its president, Mehbooba Mufti is under Public Safety Act at is being retained at her home.
