Polytechnic students allege ‘undue’ charge of late fees

Students of government polytechnic college Larkipora in Islamabad district alleged Technical Education Board of charging “undue” late fees while submitting admission forms.

The students of second and fourth semester told Kashmir Life that the college administration is charging 260 rupees as late fees when the last date is today only.

“If the last date to submit fees is today they can ask for late charges from tomorrow,” a student said.

Moreover, the students have demanded extension in the last date of submitting admission form. “Islamabad was shut from last four days and internet service was also shut. They should give us additional time to submit fees,” said a Second-semester student.

The students have also threatened of protests against administration if the demands are not fulfilled.

When Kashmir Life contacted Secretary State Board of Technical Education Mehmood Khan he said: “we cannot do anything.”

“The students had got fifteen days to submit the form online and it is ruled that if they are late they have to pay the additional charge,” he said adding that, “they should be taught a lesson.”

When asked internet services were snapped in South Kashmir he said, “Students should have submitted form earlier they know ground situation.”
