In a shocking incident of its kind, a father beheaded his 8-year-old daughter at Dharna village of Poonch district in Jammu and Kashmir Sunday afternoon.
A police official said that class 3rd student Masrat Naz daughter of Zakir Hussain of Dharna in Mendhar was killed by her father by slitting her throat with a sharp edged weapon.
He said that the locals of the Dharna village informed the police about the murder, a police team was immediately rushed to the spot where they found the beheaded body of the gir.
The official said that the girl was immediately taken to Sub district hospital Mendhar for postmortem. “After conducting all legal formalities the body of the deceased was handed over to her relatives for last rites, he said”.
Unconfirmed reports said that Zakir Hussain wanted to settle score with his brother over a land dispute. For the same purpose he beheaded his daughter so that his brother gets implicated in the murder.
SDPO Mendhar, Surinder Chowdary while confirming the incident said that the father of the deceased has been arrested and a case was registered in this regard.
