Acting tough against the poppy cultivation, administration in Sub Division Chadoora on Tuesday destroyed poppy cultivation spread over 250 kanals of land.
A joint team of Sub Division Chadoora headed by SDM Chadoora Abdul Aziz destroyed poppy cultivation spread over 250 kanals of land in the fields of Qazipora, Awanpora, Tangnar, Beigh Hyder, Gowharpora and other adjacent area’s of Central Kashmir’s Budgam district.
The Executive Magistrates of all the three Tehsils of the Chadoora along with police officials, Excise and Revenue Department also participated in a major drive against the poppy cultivation.
SDM Chadoora Abdul Aziz reiterated his commitment of zero tolerance towards the individuals found involved in poppy cultivation.
Pertinently, engaging in production, manufacturing, possession, sale, purchase, transportation, warehousing, concealment, use or consumption, import interstate, export interstate of such drugs/substances is illegal under the law under section 18 of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act 1985.
