Close on the heels of the two back to back attacks in summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir that left three cops dead, J&K police have intensified frisking across Srinagar.

Witnesses told Kashmir Life that the intensification of frisking reminded them of the days of 90s when militancy reared it and military would uncomfortably grope the passer-bys on mere suspicion of carrying a weapon.

“Every two-wheeler is being inspected thoroughly,” witnesses added. They also alleged that intemperate behavior on part of police officials who often flung expletives at the detainees who are being frisked.

Witnesses also said that even passenger buses were being intercepted at several places.

Early morning, two unidentified bike-borne gunmen mounted audacious attacks on J&K policemen on two different places in Srinagar resulting in the killings of as many as three cops.

Mangled bodies of slain policemen were recovered from the puddle of blood which was later cleared by the officials.

The attacks caught the police department off guard.
