Postal Department has made elaborate arrangements for booking and delivery of Rakhis and Rakhi gifts through network of post offices in Jammu and Kashmir. This was stated by Chief Post Master General Jammu and Kashmir John Samuel.

Post offices sell a range of Rakhi envelopes, which are made up of water-resistant and tear resistant materials. Each envelope is sold for Rs seven and this has become very popular among the customers. Further, for the first time in J&K, Rakhis are also sold at the Post office under retail post at Gandhi Nagar post office in Jammu. This provides convenience to the people whereby they can buy the Rakhis at the Post office and send them through post. This is a new initiative taken by Jammu and Kashmir circle, said Samuel

“Raksha Bandhan is one of the most popular festivals of India. Raksha Bandhan celebration is the festival to express the immaculate love between brothers and sisters. a special case, Rakhi speed post consignments will be delivered through vehicles until late evening,” he added.

Post office is making special arrangements for delivery of Rakhis and Rakhi gifts during this festival time. Customers may book the Rakhis through Speed Post for faster and on-time delivery.
