Protests erupted in the southern town of Tral, after a young lady, who had to deliver her first issue died in the local hospital allegedly due to the negligence of doctors.
“We don’t know what happened to her after she was taken in the labor room,” a relative of the lady said adding “that is why we want a probe in her killing.”
Afroza 28 was married only last year to Tariq Ahmad of Nai Basti, Tral.
The family alleged that Afroza was given extra dose of anesthesia before cesarean which caused her death. However the doctors were not available to comment.
As the news of the death of the lady spread in the town, the shutters came down and the people assembled in the hospital premises.
Hospital sources told KL that some of the protesters barged in the hospital building and ransacked it. “They smashed the window panes and furniture of the hospital.”
