SRINAGAR: Towseef Ahmad Raina, President of Municipal Council Baramulla on Saturday lost a no-confidence motion that was moved against him by councillors recently.

Quoting officials the news agency KNO reported that a floor test was conducted in which 17 counsellors took part while ten chose to stay away from the process.

The officials said that out of 17 councillors, ten went against Tawseef Raina, while one was absent.

“Last week, 12 councillors moved the no-confidence motion against the incumbent president, Raina, promoting authorities to conduct floor test,” they said.

Tawseef Raina was elected chairman of Municipal Council Baramulla last year after defeating his opponent Mudasir Tantray by a margin of four votes.
