SRINAGAR: President Droupadi Murmu on Wednesday extended greetings to the nation on the eve of Eid-ul-Zuha, urging citizens to strengthen the values of love, harmony and service to humanity.
In her message, the President conveyed her best wishes to all citizens, including Indians living abroad, with special greetings to the Muslim community.
She said the festival symbolises devotion, sacrifice and selflessness, and inspires people to serve humanity, particularly those who are less privileged.
President Murmu called upon citizens to use the occasion to reaffirm their commitment to fostering compassion, unity and communal harmony in society.
Eid-ul-Zuha, also known as Bakrid, commemorates Prophet Ibrahim’s devotion and willingness to sacrifice in obedience to God, and is observed by Muslims across the world with prayers and charitable acts.
