SRINAGAR
N N Vohra, Governor Jammu and Kashmir, presented the President’s Police Medals for Gallantry and Distinguished and Meritorious Services to 90 Police officers and men at an impressive Investiture Ceremony held at Raj Bhavan here Monday.
According to government statement they included 36 President’s Police Medals for Gallantry, 5 President’s Police Medals for Distinguished Services and 49 President’s Medals for Meritorious Services.
These Medals were awarded to J&K Police personnel during 2011 and 2012. “Among the recipients of the Medals were the next of kin of one of the gallant Police man who had laid down his life for safeguarding the security of the nation,” the government statement said.
The Governor interacted with the recipients of the Medals and lauded their valour and devotion to the duty.
Later, the recipients of the Medals had group photographs taken with the Governor, Chief Minister and other dignitaries present on the occasion.
