A wreath-laying ceremony was held on Thursday evening in District Police Lines Srinagar where tributes were paid to the slain policemen; Sg Constable Ab Hamid(No 3400/S EXK-002237) son of Raj Mohd a resident of Drigla Tanghdar District Kupwara and Constable Mumtaz Ahmad (No 3385/S EXK-002236) son of Rehmat Ali a resident of Khanpora Karnah District Kupwara, who were killed in press colony attack.
A police spokesperson in a statement said that civil and police officers led by DIG CKR laid floral wreaths on the mortal remains of the slain and paid rich tributes to the policemen who made supreme sacrifice in the line of duty.
“Besides DIG CKR V K Birdi-IPS, other senior officers of Police including SSP Srinagar Imtiaz Ismail Parray-IPS, SSP PCR Srinagar Shahid Mehraj were present at the ceremony and paid floral tributes to the martyrs, a police spokesperson said.
