SRINAGAR: Principal Secretary Home, Chandraker Bharti, on Tuesday visited Chashoti village in Kishtwar to take stock of the ongoing rescue and relief operations following the massive cloudburst that struck the area.
The calamity has so far claimed over 60 lives, left more than 100 injured, while hundreds remain feared trapped under debris.
Officials accompanying Bharti briefed him about the rescue efforts being carried out jointly by Police, Army, NDRF, and other agencies. He interacted with the affected families and assured them that all possible support would be extended.
Authorities said the priority remains on locating those missing and providing urgent medical aid and rehabilitation to the survivors. (KNC)
