Terming the bomb blast in the police van which was carrying a militant-prisoner, Waheed Noor Khan, as ‘mysterious and suspicious’, All Parties Hurriyat Conference led by Hurriyat patriarch Syed Ali Geelani demanded an ‘impartial investigation by some independent agency’ in this incident.
An amalgam statement issued Sunday afternoon said, “the government probe in this regard can’t be trusted because those probes have never been impartial and independent and till date no results have come out from the government announced investigations.”
“The circumstantial evidences make this entire episode a mysterious and suspicious. A police personnel has also lost his life in this incident and many were injured but the unseen and invisible forces who perform these types of operations can risk many other lives to kill a particular subject which they have done many times in the past and every Kashmiri whether he is any detainee or any policeman is worth to be killed in front of these forces,” the statement said.
The statement added, “before this, another detainee Shakeel Ahmad alias Obaidullah was also killed in a similar incident and till date no truth or reality behind that incident came to fore,” adding, “until an impartial and independent investigation is held in the murder case of Waheed Noor Khan, truth will never come to front.”
The statement said, the Hurriyat amalgam expresses its surprise over the police version which have termed Waheed Noor Khan as a Pakistani militant. “He was a Kashmiri youth resident of Rawlakote area of Azad Kashmir,” the statement informed.
Hurriyat (g) further said that a handcuffed detainee is moved to court in a very tight security and about a dozen police personnel are accompanying him, “so in this situation how can a grenade exist in the police van and how can it explode without noticed by the police personnel present there, it is a question which nobody can answer.”
