Private Schools Association of Jammu and Kashmir (PSAJK)  condoled the demise of legendary writer and intellectual Ghulam Nabi Gowher.

The Association termed the loss as irreparable for the society. “Gowhar was a writer par excellence who illuminated us with his words for the last more than five decades,” said G N Var president PSAJK. “As of now he was definitely one of the tallest personalities on the literary front in Kashmir and his death has created a huge vacuum.”

The Association termed the life and works of Gowhar as an inspiration for lakhs of students in the state. “He has achieved so much in life that even after death his work will continue to touch our lives. Our students will continue to benefit from highly researched books and how he brought to fore one of the most painful stories from the state. Not only facts, in his stories one finds so much of teachings in his books that it creates a positive change in a reader,” said Var.

“Even before taking on the role of full-fledged writer, his life as a jurist is also worth feeling proud of. He has been an achiever during his entire life.”

The Association said that the fact that Gowhar worked relentlessly even during advanced age and suffering from multiple ailments, shows his dedication to the world of knowledge.

The Association said that the biggest tribute to Gowhar will be to read his books and enlighten our minds. “His articles, novels, non-fiction and research books are the works of decades of research. All of us should read and benefit from them,” said  Var.

The Association held a condolence meeting wherein the members prayed for the departed soul and expressed full sympathies with the bereaved family.
