SRINAGAR: In a vibrant ceremony held at the Govt Degree College Auditorium in Poonch, the Private Schools’ Association Jammu and Kashmir (PSAJK) celebrated the achievements of the top 30 students in the class 12 examinations. Distinguished personalities from the education sector graced the occasion, including Prof Mushtaq Siddiqi, former Vice Chancellor of IUST, G N Var, President of PSAJK, Prof Assia Siddiqi, former Director of J&K Institute of Mathematical Sciences, Khursheed Bismal, President of PSAJK Pir Panjal, and renowned educationists.

Prof Mushtaq Siddiqi commended the significant contribution of private schools and the PSAJK in the field of education. He emphasized the importance of the government recognizing the valuable role played by private schools and providing support for their further development. Prof Siddiqi stated that private schools have become an integral part of the education system and their contribution cannot be overlooked. He urged the government to acknowledge the real drivers of education through data and statistics and give them the credit they deserve. He also encouraged the PSAJK to advocate for their viewpoint among all stakeholders to ensure their contributions are recognized.

G N Var expressed that this ceremony was the first in a series of functions aimed at honoring the academic achievements of students, with more events planned for the future. The primary objective of these functions is to motivate and uplift students, inspiring them to reach new heights in their academic pursuits.

Waheed Ahmed Banday, District President of PSAJK Poonch, served as the chief organizer of the event. Veteran educationist M N Qureshi delivered the vote of thanks, while Pardeep Khanna conducted the proceedings of the glittering ceremony. Zonal presidents of PSAJK also addressed the gathering, extending their congratulations to the toppers and encouraging other students to continue working hard.

The ceremony proved to be a resounding success, filled with pride for the toppers and their families. It provided a significant platform to recognize the remarkable contributions of private schools in the field of education. The presence of esteemed educationists and senior office bearers of PSAJK, along with the warm wishes and applause from the attendees, added to the joyous atmosphere of the occasion.

Prominent educationists, including Prof Fateh Mohammad, Maqbool Mukhlis, Arif Kazmi, Zaher Qureshi, and senior office bearers of PSAJK, such as Rakesh Puri, Khurshid Khan, Mohammad Maroof, Mohammad Akram, Ishaq Ahmed, Imtiaz Ahmhad, Mohammed Azeem, Zakir Makhdomi, Sanjay Sharma, Tajinder Singh, Gurcharan Singh, Usha Puri, Tazeem Akhter, Ab Majeed, and Mir Mohd, were present at the ceremony to congratulate the deserving toppers.
