SRINAGAR: Affiliation Committee of J&K Board of School Education (JKBOSE) on Tuesday granted an extension to private schools.

A meeting of the Committee, chaired by the JKBOSE chairperson Prof. Veena Pandita, considered 211 cases of Private Academic Institution of Kashmir and Jammu Divisions for extension and up-gradation which includes 64 of Kashmir Division and 147 of Jammu Division.

The extension and up-gradation cases which were complete in all respects were granted BoSE affiliation for a period of five years and two years respectively.

The extension cases which were having minor deficiencies were granted an extension for five years subject to the fulfilment of deficiencies within three months. The up-gradation cases, which were having minor deficiencies, were granted up-gradation in a phased manner to enrol the students for class 9th or 11th as the case may be and 10th or 12th in the second session, subject to fulfilment of deficiencies.

The Director School Education Kashmir, Jammu and School Education Department Civil Secretariat Srinagar attended the meeting through video conference.

The Agenda of the meeting was presented by Secretary J&K BoSE Riyaz Ahmad.
