Post CM Mufti Muhammad Sayeed’s Mumbai visit, Bollywood crews have started promoting their films from valley.
According to a statement, Pooja Films in association with SPACE Communications did first promotional activity for the upcoming film “Welcome 2 Karachi” at Cheshmashahi, Srinagar.
“This was the first bollywood film to do pre release promotional activity in the valley. The logistic support for the event was provided by J&K Tourism department. The function was titled “Run For Laughter” as it is a comedy film and full of fun. Major attraction for the function was Jackky Bhagnani, Bollywood star who has various films to his credit, Lauren Gottlieb American model who has performed with Hollywood celebrities like Rihanna, Britney Spears, Enrique and Tom Cruise, renowned Bollywood producer Vashu Bhagnani,” the statement said.
In this run around 500 students and 50 staff members from various schools participated.
On this occasion in his interaction with kids, Jackky said, “Our idea to promote the film in Kashmir is to have a bonding with Kashmiris. They are lovely people, hospitable and the real paradise of Kashmir is Kashmiris.”
“Stars had lot of praise for Bhand Paether folk performance by Bhagat group from Akingam. They joined artists while they were performing. The film crew were impressed with a unique format of Kashmiri culture and were surprised why this art has not been portrayed in Bollywood film, the statement said.
Dr Amit Wanchoo, CEO SPACE Communications said, “We are lucky that Welcome to Karachi chose Kashmir for promoting their film before the release. These promotional events will add business to our place and give us better publicity. Jackky and Lauren are humans with real heart who have been so kind.”
