Properties Worth Rs 1.6 Crore Seized in Kashmir Drug Crackdown

   

SRINAGAR:  In a continued crackdown on drug trafficking, Police in Jammu and Kashmir’s Anantnag have attached properties worth Rs 1.6 crore under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985.

A police spokesperson in a statement said, “Police Station Aishmuqam froze assets belonging to Mushtaq Ahmed Ahanger, a resident of Hapatnaar Aishmuqam. These include a double-storey concrete building and a shop, valued at approximately ₹1.3 crore. Ahanger, who is involved in ongoing narcotics-related offenses, faces this action as part of efforts to dismantle his illicit operations.”

Additionally, Police Station Anantnag attached a double-storey building with six concrete shops in Sadoora, belonging to Bashir Ahmed Mir of Abdul Khaliq Mir. A repeat offender in narcotics cases, Mir’s assets are valued at around Rs 30 lakh.
