Residents of Saini Darwan village of Chrar-e-Sharif area of district Budgam on Friday locked a government middle school to protest against the dearth of staff.

The aggrieved residents later staged a sit-in outside the school premises.

Reports said that, last year after a primary school Astan pora Chelyan village was upgraded to Middle School Sanidarwan, but the department failed to provide the required staff for the school.

The residents said that they have repeatedly asked the school authorities to provide the required staff but their pleas have fallen to deaf ears.

CEO, Budgam, Inderjeet Sharma told Kashmir Life that he has dispatched a team of officials to the school to ascertain the situation.
