Soon after the reports of clashes and assault of Kashmiris in Jammu spread, the youth in Srinagar took to streets and clashed with the government forces at Lal-Chowk in Srinagar.
An eyewitness said that scores of the youth assembled on M. A road and pelted government forces deployed near the cluster university Srinagar with stones.
Amid the pro-freedom slogans, the protestors alleged the Jammu administration of turning a blind eye towards the incidents happening in the region.
Meanwhile, the Kashmir Traders and Manufacturers Association staged a sit-in protest at Ghanta Ghar in Srinagar demanding the safety and security of the Kashmiris outside the state.
