Protests and clashes marked Eid Nimaz in parts of Kashmir.

Witnesses and reports said that as soon as the Eid Nimaz concluded in Eidgah in Srinagar, youth held huge protests.

To quell the protests forces who were standing on the Safakadal-Soura road fired tear gas shells.

Shouting heavy Pro-Freedom and anti India slogans, youth pelted stones on the forces.

Reports coming from North Kashmir’s Baramullah district said that heavy protests were witnessed in Sopore town post Eid prayers.

A statement from Peoples league said, “Imtiyaz Reshi and Tahoor Sidiqi along with dozens of workers led a peaceful march chanting slogans in favour of Freedom.”

Octogenarian Hurriyat leader, Syed Ali Geelani was detained at his office-cum-residence at Hyderpora while his his activists held a protest demonstration at Hyderpora Jamia Masjid.
