Protests were held amid spontaneous shutdown in Khudwani and Qaimoh areas of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Wednesday after government forces allegedly arrested seven youth during clashes following a bank robbery in area.

Sources said that at least seven college-going students were arrested near SKUAST, Khudwani today morning during clashes that erupted following a bank robbery in Qaimoh area.

As the news of arrests spread in the area, people took to streets and staged protests, demanding their release. A spontaneous shutdown was also observed in the area against the arrests.
