SRINAGAR
Hundreds took to roads in Srinagar after Friday prayers to protest against Israeli aggression on Gaza and processions were taken out on dozens of places during which people raised anti-Israel and anti-America slogans.
Protest call after Friday prayers was given by Hurriyat Conference (G) chairman, Syed Ali Geelani.
Reports said that after Friday congregational prayers people held processions and rallies to protest against Israel.
Many processions reached Press Enclave in the civil lines area of Srinagar and burned Israeli flag to register their protest.
Reports said a huge procession was taken out in Jamia Masjid area which later culminated into a public meeting and Hurriyat (M) chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq addressed it.
Mirwaiz condemned the Israeli attacks on Gaza and appealed the international community to take cognizance of the situation in the Middle East.
Mirwaiz also appealed UN and OIC to come forward to the rescue of Palestinian people.
A procession of motorcyclists was taken out in the civil lines area of the city which marched through Lal Chowk. The Motorcyclists were raising not also anti-Israel but anti-India slogans as well.
Reports of protest rallies have also reached from North and South of the valley.
