Protests erupted in Kashmir University Tuesday morning agains the summoning of the varsity student by NIA.

Reports said that hundreds of students of various departments of the varsity are marching in the university campus raising “anti NIA, anti India and anti government” slogans against the summoning of a research scholar of Pharmacy department by the Indian federal investigation agency.

They said that the students are demanding that the student, Aala Fazili, should be released immediately. The students are marching towards the Vice Chancellors secretariate to register the protest, they added.

The protesting students carried playcards which reads: “We stand by Aala Fazili, Go India Go Back, NIA Back Off and NIA New tool of Persecution”.

Aala was summoned by the investigation agency on Friday along with a trade leader, Yasin Khan, in the alleged funding case.
