A youth was injured during clashes in Kalampora area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district after Friday congregational prayers.

Reports said that youth of the area assembled in Kalampora and pelted government forces with stones in the area and the forces in retaliation fired aerial rounds.

However, the injured youth was referred to the nearby health centre for treatment and is said to be stable now.

When contacted, SP Pulwama, he said that one youth has suffered minor head injuries during clashes and is stable now.

Meanwhile, protests were also going on in north Kashmir’s Palhalan area against the killings in Kashmir.

Earlier, today, protests erupted in Kupwara district’s Trehgam township after police allegedly barged into Bunpora locality and damaged property besides thrashing locals.

Reports said that police action triggered dread in the neighbourhood. Scores of locals poured on roads with aided with canes to hold a demonstration against police.

Minor protests were also reported from Memender, Narvowe and Choudrigund areas of South Kashmir’s Shopian district.
