SRINAGAR: Peoples Conferences Chairman Sajad Gani Lone Thursday said he is proud of all the Kashmiri politicians who were part of the all-party meeting for their role in highlighting the pain of the people of the Valley.
Addressing a press conference here, Lone said, “In my view, there are no winners and losers in the all-party meeting. No one had gone to speak against Kashmir.”
He said everybody made Kashmir proud. “I give everyone equal marks. Rabble rousing and rhetorical statements won’t help in making New Delhi deliver.”
He said there is propriety involved in the meeting and even the Prime Minister just put out three tweets on the issue.
“It is only us who have diarrhea of speaking. Someone asked the sixth person present in the meeting about what I spoke but didn’t call me,” Lone said, adding that whatever is being written now is part of history.
“Forty years from now people should read the truth.”
He said that we won’t talk on Muzzafar Baig’s sacking as the matter is over for them “Whatever had to be spoken has been said by Imran (Ansari) Sahib.”
He said that statehood should be given back immediately as a matter of right. “I don’t link statehood with elections but I will fight them if everyone else does.”
He said opposition members talking about a boycott might be laying a trap.
He said his party believes in creating an environment in which New Delhi will deliver. “People in the past three years have been suffering.”
