SRINAGAR: A driver from south Kashmir’s Pulwama district was killed and another person injured after a Tata Mobile vehicle collided with a parked truck at Kharpora Chowk in Banihal area of Ramban district on Thursday morning.
Officials said the accident occurred in the early hours when the Tata Mobile rammed into a stationary truck near Kharpora Chowk, resulting in the death of the driver on the spot.
The deceased was identified as Bashir Ahmad Kumhar, son of Mohammad Ismail, a resident of Pulwama district.
The injured person was shifted immediately to Sub-District Hospital Banihal for treatment.
Police and an NHAI ambulance team reached the site shortly after the incident and carried out rescue operations.
Banihal Police have taken cognisance of the incident, and further investigation has been initiated. (JKNS)
