One more militant has been killed in the gunfight with government forces in Panzgam area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Saturday, taking the toll to three.
Army’s Srinagar-based spokesman, Colonel Rajesh Kalia said three militants have been killed in Panzgam encounter.
“Op Panzgom (Pulwama). One more militant killed. Total three militants eliminated. Weapons and warlike stores recovered. Operation over,” Army’s Srinagar-based spokesman, Colonel Rajesh Kalia in a statement said.
The identities of the slain militants are yet to be ascertained, an official said.
As per the sources, the slain militants were affiliated with Hizbul Mujahideen outfit.
Earlier, the officer said that the encounter broke out in Panzgam village after a joint team of army’s 55 RR and SOG launched a cordon-and-search operation following inputs about the presence of some militants.
