Soon after the killing of a militant during a gunfight at Rinzipora area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district in the wee hours on Friday, people mostly youth took to the streets to protest against the killing.
Reports said that scores of the youth assembled near the police station Pulwama and clashed with government forces. Meanwhile, protests were also reported from south Kashmir’s Islamabad district near Lal-chowk area of the town.
Earlier, a militant was killed in a gunfight at Rinzipora identified as Ishfaq Yousuf Wani, son of Mohammad Yousuf Wani of Qoil village of Pulwama.
The encounter broke out after the search party of Army’s 55 RR and SOG was fired upon by the group of militants at Rinzipora area.
