Paying tributes to the two slain youth Danish Farooq and Shaista Hamid, who were killed by forces on Sunday, All Parties Hurriyat Conference (m) Chairperson, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq Monday said whether the government is led by NC, PDP or the state is witnessing Governor’s rule, “carrying atrocities against Kashmiris in every tenure has remained a state policy”.

Mirwaiz, who has been placed under house arrest since Sunday evening and barred from performing his political, social and religious obligations said, “Kashmiri people had for the past several decades been at the receiving end of inhumane treatment and gravest atrocities.”

Stressing that the third generation of Kashmiris was now being “deliberately” targeted, the APHC-m Chairperson said, “the killing of two young innocent students in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district was a proof that the government was, executing a well-planned conspiracy to annihilate and wipe out the entire generation of Kashmiri youth.”

Suggesting that by using “excessive force and unleashing its military might on the innocent civilians”, the genuine voice of the people of Kashmir demanding their just “Right of Self Determination” cannot be crushed, Mirwaiz said. “the oppressive and repressive tactics would not help drag the long-standing Kashmir issue under the carpet.”

Cautioning that by carrying inhumane of atrocities in Kashmir every other day leading to the killings of innocent civilians, the situation in Kashmir is getting from bad to worse instead of being controlled, the APHC-m Chief said, “by keeping Kashmir issue unresolved was leading to everyday bloodshed of Kashmiris.”

Explaining that it was due to the long-pending Kashmir issue that the region was witnessing bloodshed for the past several decades, Mirwaiz further said until this human and political issue would be resolved while keeping its historical context in mind, peace would elude Kashmir, India, Pakistan and the entire South Asia.

The Hurriyat amalgam spokesperson condemned the imposition of curfew in most parts of Srinagar and entire Pulwama district and termed the “victimization of the freedom-loving people of Kashmir as undemocratic policy of the government indulging in political vendetta”.
