SRINAGAR: As the encounter between militants and forces at Padgampora came to an end, scores of protesters came on streets at Pampore and started raising pro-freedom slogans.

The police and forces swung into action and tried to chase them away however they pelted stones on forces triggering clashes in the saffron town.

Reports said that soon after the protests, shopkeepers pulled down their shutters and schools were closed.

They said that people were protesting against the militant and civilian killing at Padgampora village of Pulwama district.

Two militants were killed in the gunfight while as a 9th class student was shot dead during clashes with forces at Padgampora.

However, SHO Pampore said that mild stone pelting incident was reported in the town.
