Senior Congress leader and former Union minister Jairam Ramesh on Sunday expressed anguish over the killings in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.

Taking to the microblogging site, Ramesh wrote: “I think all of us must feel deeply, deeply anguished by the tragedy that overtook Pulwama yesterday. The statement issued by the Group of Concerned Citizens, Jammu and Kashmir a number of whom who have served the Indian state with distinction says it all.”

Pertinently, seven civilians were killed after the forces opened fire on protesters in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
