Train services remained suspended for the second successive day on Sunday for “security reasons” in the Kashmir valley following shutdown call by Joint Resistance Leadership against Pulwama killings.

All trains will remain off tracks in the Kashmir valley today also, a railway official said.

Therefore, he said, no train will chug on Srinagar-Budgam in central Kashmir to Baramulla in the north.

Similarly, all trains will remain suspended on Srinagar-Islamabad-Qazigund in south Kashmir with Banihal in Jammu, he added.

Pertinently, three militants and an army man were killed in an encounter at Sirnoo village, while seven civilians were killed after the forces opened fire on protesters.

The Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL), comprising of Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umer Farooq, and Muhammad Yasin Malik on Saturday had called for three-day shutdown and a protest march to the Badamibagh army Cantonment in Srinagar on Monday.
