SRINAGAR: A 52-year-old man from Punjab died in Srinagar on Sunday after he complained of breathing difficulty at his relative’s residence in the Alochi Bagh area, officials said.
The deceased has been identified as Satnam Singh, son of Piyara Singh, a resident of Amritsar, Punjab. He was staying at his sister-in-law’s house in Alochi Bagh along with his wife and 25-year-old son.
Quoting SHO Shergari Police Station Mohammad Isaaq, news agency CNS reported that, as per family members, Singh complained of suffocation and difficulty in breathing, following which he was immediately shifted to SMHS Hospital.
“Doctors at the hospital declared him brought dead,” the SHO said.
He added that police have initiated legal proceedings in the matter. The body has been sent for medico-legal examination and will be handed over to the family after the completion of necessary formalities.
