SRINAGAR: Qazi Mohammad Salman, a senior officer of the Indian Information Services, has been promoted to the position of Director, of the Press Information Bureau (PIB), Srinagar, with the additional responsibility of Director News at Doordarshan Kendra (DDK), Srinagar. The announcement was made today by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India, as part of a reshuffle involving 27 senior IIS officers nationwide.
Prior to this promotion, Shri Salman served as Joint Director at PIB Srinagar while also holding additional charge of the News Unit at DDK Srinagar. In his elevated role, he will continue to oversee the operations of both institutions, focusing on improving public outreach and the dissemination of government information across the region.
With extensive experience in public information and broadcasting, Shri Salman’s leadership has been pivotal in enhancing the communication of government policies and programmes in Jammu and Kashmir. His contributions have been widely acknowledged for their impact on strengthening information dissemination in the Union Territory.
