The Chairman of Ummat e Islami Jammu Kashmir Qazi Ahmed Yasir, Sunday paid tributes to Sajjad Kanue on his 21st death anniversary and also offered Fateh Khawani.

Qazi Yasir said that Kanue was a great student activist and a pioneer of unity among many militant groups. “He was a great patriot who lived upto the promises of being a great freedom fighter. He had a close association with Shaheed Dr. Qazi Nissar and had earned respect from the resistance camp at huge level. His martyrdom created a space that is tough to be bridged,” Yasir said.

While remembering the youth killed in 2016, Yasir said, “the civilian killings have yet again stamped the fact that Kashmiris have never bowed down to the military might or any authoritarian rule. The government used immense power to kill the dissent and construct an image of peace.”

He also demanded the immediate release of all political prisoners including Azaad Waqar, Bhat Raouf, Sarjan Barkati, Sajjad Hashmi, Ayaz Akbar, Noor Mohammed Kalwal and others.
