Mohammad Rafiq Lone, life member of J&K Yateem Foundation, was Saturday elected as the chairman of the Foundation. Lone has been elected for a two year term replacing Mohammad Ahsan Rather.
He was elected through official ballot held in a meeting of Central Executive Committee (CEC) members held at Bait-ul-Hilal Jawahar Nagar, here on Saturday.
Sixteen members cast their votes and Mohammad Rafiq was elected on majority basis.
Another founder member Mohammad Yaqoob Reshi was appointed General Secretary of the organization.
“Since March 15, 2000, J&K Yateem Foundation is in pursuit of welfare & rehabilitation of orphans, widows & destitute, running scores of welfare & rehabilitation programmes covering sustenance, livelihood, education, marriage of poor and orphan girls”, said an official of the JKYF.
